THE GAME AT A GLANCE

Small board.
Big consequences.

1. Leap in an L. Two squares along, one across, in any direction. Leap over other pieces to an empty square.
2. Captures are forced. A snake captures one square diagonally forwards. If any of your pieces can capture, you must make a capture.
3. Reach the crown square. Your snake becomes a King Cobra on the centre square of the far row. You may promote at most twice per game.
4. The King Cobra has reach. It moves and captures along straight and diagonal lines. It cannot jump over a piece.
5. Capture all opposing pieces. That wins the game. No legal move for the next player, threefold repetition with the same player to move, or forty moves per player without a capture or promotion results in a draw.
